Sitting here wondering if I'm the only one with all kinds of weird eating habits as we enter week three of quarantine? It feels like I'm constantly eating and therefore constantly having to cook. I find the whole thing a bit exhausting, hence the break I've taken from posting.
I drove up to be with my parents last weekend in Northern California. My dad loves to try new things, therefore, every time I come home we have a different type of protein powder. On the other hand, I am a creature of habit and simply rebuy whatever I'm into at the time.
Upon my return home last weekend, my dad introduced me to his recent purchases, Chocolate Bone Broth Protein Powder and Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. Trust me, I was a bit skeptical of the Chocolate Bone Broth Protein Powder, I mean bone broth in protein powder??? Seems weird. But here's the thing, it's completely delicious, tastes like dessert and is appropriate to consume at any time of the day! So what's not to love? Furthermore, the bone broth component offers unique benefits that other protein powders do not, including joint, skin, and gut support. That last benefit is a big one for me! Additionally this product is keto, paleo, gluten free, dairy free, and nut free and it's easily one of the yummiest protein powders I've tried.
Another product I've had the chance to try since returning home is Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. This is something I've often seen foodies, health, and wellness industry experts promoting, but had yet to try. It's unflavored so it's perfect for adding into any smoothie, drink, coffee, pancake recipe, or even oatmeal. As you may be aware, collagen peptides support healthy growth in hair, nails, and skin and are great for your joints.
While I use these products together, you can also use them individually. I've included a "recipe" for a shake I've been drinking at least once a day since returning home. The other night I actually also drank it for dinner, hence the weird eating habits I mentioned earlier.
Ingredients for this DELICIOUS chocolate shake include:
- 1 Banana
- 2 spoonfuls of almond butter or peanut butter
- 1 scoop of Ancient Nutrition chocolate bone broth protein powder
- 1-2 scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
- Unsweetened Original or Vanilla Almond Milk
- Handful of ice
Blend everything together and enjoy!!!
Thanks for reading! Stay safe and healthy during this weird time.
